Understanding My Own Trauma

Trauma impacts us sometimes in surprising ways and usually not at our 1pm therapy appointment time. It can immediately be overwhelming in a memory that can come with a smell or a sound or a song when we are least prepared to handle it. Shameka will share how she gained healing from her own trauma and began to understand her psychosomatic symptoms as well, such as stomachaches and headaches. This workshop is being offered as a time to process how trauma can show up in how we view the world, how we view people, in the safe place of others who have lived it. NOTE: For Those With Lived Trauma Experience Only In order to create a safe space we ask that this training be limited to youth and young adults who have experienced trauma to find community and learn from one another's healing journey.
