Cultural humility is an important framework and skillset for professionals working within an organization advancing its EDI journey. Integrating a practice of self-reflection, personal accountability, and reducing power imbalances creates an opportunity for engaging with people from all backgrounds and perspectives in respectful ways that lead to stronger outcomes. This workshop goes beyond the concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion to provide those within the organization practical methods, ideas and strategies that can be practiced in daily interactions. 

Objectives

  1. Describe strategies for working with groups whose culture is different than their own.

  2. Name methods breaking down power imbalances and solutions to working through those perceptions and those affected by perceptions of power.

  3. Describe the practice of self-reflections and personal accountability.
